TARGET GROUPS - Editing Existing Target Groups

Modified on Wed, 22 May, 2024 at 3:54 PM

Applies to: HR/Customer administrators

Target groups allow for specific filters to be configured, which will result in employees that meet the configured filter conditions to be grouped together. The target group, could then be used for special one-off performance reviews and other similar functions.

You may wish to edit a target group at times, rather than create new target groups for every purpose.

  • Logged in as an administrator, click on the Configuration side menu, followed by the Target Groups sub-menu.
  • The Target Group Management screen will be displayed, showing existing target groups that you or fellow HR/Customer administrators have created.
  • At this stage, you might find that a target group already exists that could meet your requirements. However, it is always a good idea to check what filters have been added to confirm the group will meet your requirements.
  • To check an existing group, select it from the Target Group Management table and click edit.
  • The target group will be displayed, showing the name and filters configured for the group.
  • In the ‘Sales Support’ example target group above, it is quite a simple target group, targeting anyone in the ‘Sales Support’ department.
  • Clicking save and view results, will save the group as it is, but show you the results based on the current settings.
  • This may or may not meet your requirements and could be in use by a fellow administrator. Therefore, if you need to amend it or add more filters, it could be a good idea to liaise with your colleagues before doing so.
  • To edit the existing target group, change the already configured name, filters or filter groups to match the requirements you have. This is very similar to creating a new basic or advanced target group, covered in greater detail in the related articles below.
  • In the example above, a new filter has been added to a previously saved target group.
  • This results in employees being targeted who work in the Sales Support department in the Guildford office.
  • Click save and view results to confirm the employees targeted are correct, or click save to return to the target group management screen.
